The Exact Blueprint You Need for Finding Rhythm in Real Estate (w/ Christin Kingsbury)

If you’ve ever felt pulled between obedience and “what makes sense,” this episode will hit you in your gut.
The truth? You don’t have to choose between faith and strategy — there’s a way to build both. In this episode, I sit with Christin Kingsbury and walk through how leaning into God’s timing (and saying “yes” when things look messy) can actually lead to greater clarity and momentum in your business.

You’ll learn:

  • Why following a blueprint doesn’t mean playing it safe

  • How to let God lead your business model, even when your mind fights it

  • The importance of pivoting with wisdom, not panic

  • What it looks like to build businesses and communities simultaneously

  • How “rhythm” — not hustle — sustains consistent growth

If you’re ready to stop forcing outcomes and start aligning with purpose, this episode is for you.

Transcript & Highlights
Christin’s story is a masterclass in surrendered faith: quitting her teaching job, stepping into business without a perfect plan, and learning to trust that God’s “yes” often precedes understanding. We also talk about how to lead with simplicity when life and business feel noisy.

🏁 Introduction

Garrett:
What's up, everybody? Welcome back to another episode of The Faithful Agent Podcast. I’m thrilled that you’re with me today. We’re going to jump right in because I have a feeling Kristen has some amazing things to share with us.

Kristen, I’m just going to launch us off with a little fun. On the Ark, Noah probably got milk from the cows on board. What did he get from the ducks?
Quackers.
Garrett: That’s surprisingly funny. I’m actually going to remember that one.

💬 Starting the Conversation

Garrett:
Kristen, I’m so glad you’re here. Before the show, we talked about how your business has grown, the kindness of the Lord in your success, and the way you’ve been able to pick up your kids from school and not work weekends. That’s something I’m passionate about, too—it’s what I wrote about in my book coming out this November.

So, tell us about your business. What does it look like, and how have you built this rhythm?

👩‍👧 Building a Business Around Family

Kristen:
Like most agents, I was constantly running—answering the phone every minute, showing homes late into the night. My husband finally said, “Hey, are we going to have kids? Because I didn’t sign up for you never being home.”

It hit me hard. Then one day, one of my son’s teachers told me, “You should be the one picking up your kids from school.” It stung, but she was right. I realized I was providing financially, but missing what mattered most.

So I decided to change. I built systems and leveraged help so that I could set boundaries—no weekends, school pick-up every day. I feared I’d lose clients, but I learned they don’t need me, they need good service.

I brought on showing agents, a transaction coordinator, and a marketing person. Once I shifted from scarcity to abundance—sharing opportunities with others—God provided even more. The momentum hasn’t stopped.

🧩 The Power of Consistency and Leverage

Garrett:
That’s incredible. I’ve had similar experiences—people realizing they’re missing what they started this career for in the first place. Like the mom I met who sold 55 homes and decided to intentionally sell 30 instead, just to reclaim her family time.

Kristen, speak to that mom out there who’s struggling—who feels she has to do it all.

Kristen:
It all starts with consistency in lead generation. I know it sounds basic, but when you’re consistent, you create overflow. Overflow lets you share, and sharing gives you control of your time.

If you’re inconsistent, you end up in scarcity—constantly restarting the cycle. For me, lead generation isn’t cold calling; it’s being present—at workouts, at school events, wherever I am—loving people and letting them know I’m in real estate. It’s relational, not transactional.

Consistency builds momentum. You can’t give work away until you have enough to share. Build it up first, then leverage it.

🛠️ Systems as Leverage

Garrett:
Let’s get tactical. You mentioned leverage doesn’t have to mean a team. What do you mean by that?

Kristen:
Systems are leverage. A calendar is leverage.

When I started, I came from a structured 9–5 teaching job. I told myself, “I’ll treat this business the same way.” I built a daily checklist:

  • Add 5 people to my database

  • Follow up with 5 people

  • Write 5 handwritten notes

  • Preview 5 homes

That’s it. Simple consistency. That year, I outsold the whole office.

Later, I added tools like CRMs, then hired a TC, then marketing help—step by step, always leading with revenue. Business evolves, but the principle stays the same: build systems before people, then people before scale.

💡 The Mindset Shift About Leverage

Kristen:
At first, I felt guilty hiring help—like it was indulgent. But God showed me I was providing opportunities for others. My house cleaner once told me, “Thank you for letting me bless your family.”

It’s not laziness; it’s stewardship. My job is to use my time to generate revenue and create opportunities for others to thrive.

Garrett:
Yes. We have to think like business owners, not solo agents. Leverage isn’t about being fancy—it’s about survival and stewardship.

💰 Accountability and Stewardship

Kristen:
You have to hold God’s money accountable. So many agents don’t know what they’re making or spending. Stewardship means understanding your P&L, spending intentionally, and investing in what multiplies the mission.

Church culture often sees money as “worldly,” but you can’t fund the mission if you’re always broke. God blesses us so that we can bless others.

⚖️ Submission vs. Ambition

Garrett:
I wrestle with this all the time—the tension between submission and ambition. How do we pursue growth without getting ahead of God?

Kristen:
Great question. For me, the order is Faith, Family, Business. If those first two are healthy, I keep building.

I believe ambition becomes holy when it blesses others. But when I start to drift, I recalibrate—check in with my family, simplify my yeses, and stay near the middle of that balance.

It’s not perfection; it’s constant course correction. As long as I’m aligned and listening to God daily, I can trust the next step.

🔥 Staying Grounded and Mission-Focused

Kristen:
I regularly reflect on my gifts—what I’ve been good at since I was a kid—and ask, “How can I use this to solve problems for others?”

When things don’t work out, I’ve learned not to be discouraged. Business is fluid. Projects shift. That’s okay. God’s always redirecting.

I check in with my faith and with my people. I remind myself: my job is to be light—to be living proof of a loving God. The business is just the vehicle. Money is simply the tool that fuels mission.

❤️ Final Encouragement for Moms in Real Estate

Garrett:
I love that. Before we close—encourage that mom out there who feels stretched too thin.

Kristen:
Create rhythm.

Stop trying to copy someone else’s calendar. Build a rhythm that works in your season—your business rhythm, your home rhythm, your health rhythm.

When life changes, shift your rhythm, not your mission. Seasons come and go, but consistency inside your own rhythm builds peace, purpose, and sustainability.

🙌 Closing

Garrett:
Kristen, thank you for sharing so much wisdom and encouragement today.

To everyone listening: you’re on mission. Your method might be real estate, but your mission is the gospel. Don’t play small—trust the Lord, serve people well, and keep showing up.
